When we use Page > Excel In Excel to upload items to the planning lines and have the usage link field marked as "True", the lines holding the uploaded items do not calculate a remaining quantity, even though Usage Link *appears* to be checked. We have to manually click on the usage link field for each line that was uploaded for the system to recognize the field = True.

Why do we need an Idea to fix a bug?

I want to add some context to this issue I posted.

We use Order Planning for ordering from our jobs. When Usage Link is not actually checked (but appears to be) it causes Order Planning to ignore that item for is calculated plan. This has caused issues with our jobs missing items that were not purchased in a timely manner. This is a BIG PROBLEM.

Additionally, we have jobs that have over 500 items/planning lines that have been uploaded. By the Usage Link not populating properly when items are copied in or uploaded via "edit in excel" it requires a project engineer to sit and manually click on this field for all 500 lines so they are working properly.

This would be a huge help! After uploading several planning lines, it is easy for a couple lines to get missed in the manual selection process (especially since the page jumps when clicking true) so parts are getting missed when orders go out. Fixing the usage link would not only save time, it would also reduce error!

I work with engineers that need to manually click true for jobs that can amount to over 125+ planning lines. Not counting our Shipping/ Receiving and Purchasing departments this fix could easily save our Project Team over 200 hrs a year. It would be such a telling win for D365 that I would be happy to boast about in future conferences!
