In latest version of D365 the functionality exist to change a non-WMS item to a WMS item. This is really good if you start in a simple matter and later want to work more advanced.

However, there is no functionality to change a WMS item to be a non-WMS item.

The scenario could be that you aim high in the project to scan/move all items to prod in, but later on realize that this is too much work for some items. You really just want to backflush them from another location in the warehouse.

Since there exist no functionality to backflush WMS items that are not in prod in location you need to change the item to be a non-WMS item. When the item is non-WMS you can backflush from another location than prod in.
