In high-volume data entry environments, the current fixed-size lookup dropdown in Business Central is causing a significant productivity bottleneck.
The Problem: Currently, the standard BC lookup dropdown cannot be natively resized by the user, and the base columns cannot be easily moved or customized without complex AL extensions. Because item codes and standard descriptions are often not enough to identify modular items, our users are forced to either constantly scroll horizontally or type "blind."
Opening the "Full List" via the advanced lookup every single time requires extra clicks and page loads. Because we are on the Cloud version, this added friction eats up roughly 20-30% of our total input speed for sales and purchase orders compared to our old local deployment.
The Business Impact: For companies processing large orders manually, this native UI limitation makes the cloud system feel demonstrably slower and less convenient to use than a legacy on-premise system like NAV 2005.
The Request: Please update the web client UI to allow users to:
- Natively drag to resize/scale the dimensions of the Fast Search lookup dropdown menu.
- Fully customize and save the column positions within that dropdown without requiring a developer.
