It would be very useful if we could use a template to clear the value from a field--not just set new values.

Sometimes users apply the wrong template, realize their mistake, and then apply the correct template. If the first template puts a value in a field but the 2nd template expects to leave that field blank, then that field will be left with the "bad" value from the 1st template.

My proposed solution is that a checkbox be added either in the template line or in a setup table, which indicates that if the "Default Value" in the Config Line is blank, then (when the template is applied) the field will be set to blank (or zero).

When I apply an item template with an item category and after that apply another template without an item category, it results in the item category being blank. So it appears that this functionality may already have been implemented.
I am using this version:
NL Business Central 17.2 (platform 17.0.19353.20198 + toepassing 17.2.19367.19525)
