Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately, this is not aligned with with our roadmap and hence marking the idea as Declined.

Our company has one single call center that handles both US and Canada inquiry and our company Retail return policy allow customer to return/exchange good across US/Canada border, based on the current setup of US and Canada in separate companies it is additional step that the call center team need to remember to switch company when processing the return and it is impossible for Retail channel since they do not have access to data from other company and can only do a blink return to process those transactions.

@Zvika for Multichannel businesses - if all online/call centre orders are dispatched from one central location, but the business has retail offerings in other Countries (with separate legal entities) that customers can return goods to, then that will be a cross-company return. It would be very useful.
