The MES framework currently allows the standard journals to be posted from the MES to D365 which includes a Report as finished (RAF) message for finished goods. However, if the batch number is being assigned in the MES rather than in Dynamics, the Report as Finished message fails as the batch number does not exist in D365.
The addition of a "Create batch number" message from the MES to D365, which runs before the RAF message, would be very beneficial and therefore remove a custom extension by our customers.
