When using batch below location reservation hierarchy, if there is only one batch in the location the warehouse application does not prompt the user to scan or enter the batch number. Many customers want to always scan the batch number regardless if it is the last batch in the location. Recommended approach:

  • If mobile device menu item work confirmation "batch confirmation" field is set to "Yes", require scanning batch at all times (regardless of number of batches remaining in the location).
  • If mobile device menu item work confirmation "batch confirmation" field is set to "No", still display the batch to the user but do not require scanning. Currently the batch doesn't even display to the user.

The "real world" scenarios are misaligned with Microsoft's interpretation that if the system only has 1 batch in a location, that batch MUST be correct... it's a long overdue functionality that enforces workers to not "blindly" trust the system in terms of stock accuracy and enable businesses to stop incorrect items being shipped (especially important where perishable products are involved or customers have a minimum sellable days requirement).

A highly desirable feature.

In some circumstances, the mobile device does present a 'Suggested Batch'

Mobile device have to show the batch or serial the user is supposed to pick. Very important!

The problem is even worse since the mobile device does not even show the batch or serial the user is supposed to pick. We need a better solution, the current state is not acceptable.
