Currently installed hotfix - KB 4038989: Cancel a packing slip for a WHS item.
Before this hotfix, packing slips couldn't be cancelled after posting for WHS items. After the hotfix, you can cancel the packing slip, but if you were to post from the Sales order, you still couldn't cancel the packing slip. If posted from the shipments, cancellation was possible.
From a functional perspective, most packing slip posting should be done from the shipments, but with current limitation if a user was to post from the sales order, there is no way to undo this transaction.
Current workaround is to train users to always post from shipments, but a fix would be great to limit posting from the sales order or to grant the ability to cancel from the sales order if posted there.

Many of our clients have a variation of this requirement. Main scenario is as follows, one load associated to multiple sales orders.
Example: 1 load with 10 lines associate to 10 sales orders. Packing slips for all orders are posted from the load at time of shipment. One of the lines is not delivered, truck got stuck in traffic, customer didnt accept because the material was damged or not within spec, it comes back to the warehouse on the truck. Only options to get that material back in the warehouse are:
1. Reverse the shipment confirmation from the load, this reverses all 10 packing slips. The material that was not delivered is removed from the load and the load is reshipped. When the load is reshipped the 9 sales lines that were delivered are given a new packing slip number which does not match the packing slips the customers received. The new packing slip number is printed on the invoice and the customer cannot use it for matching.
2. Invoice the line and create a return order, this is a time consuming process. The majority of the time the order gets shipped again the next day so it requires a new sales order as well.
The ideal situation would be to be able to reverse the packing slip from the sales order directly.

We post the packing slips through the Packing functionality in adv.WH and face the issue that we have no way of reversing the packing slip...
