No weight and length unit is currently defined on the shipment / load header. The current shipment / load creation logic will sum the total weight from the released product records for those included products, but the returned value is now arbitrary in relation to that despatch without a unit.

The "System unit" can be defined (Org admin > Units), which in turn populates the "Physical dimensions" setup; however this is per D365FO instance, therefore it is not possible to have different weight units per legal entity. E.g. GBR LE = Kg, USA LE = Lbs.

It would be great to be able to specify the system units at a legal entity level within an instance. This would therefore mean carrier interfaces were possible and output despatch documentation could be configured accordingly.
