We have implemented out of the box Sharepoint Online integration for Document Management with Dynamics 365.

Currently, we have to maintain user access, and security permissions to Sharepoint document locations completely separate from the permissions that are set up in Dynamics 365.

There are 3rd party applications that can replicate the permissions from D365 to Sharepoint, but as this is all part of the MS platform, can this be made available as part of the out of the box Document Management Settings.

For those who might be looking for the third-party app referenced in this thread, here is the link https://www.connecting-software.com/dynamics-crm-sharepoint-permissions-replicator/

There is a third party solution for this, but clearly an OTB solution would be preferred.

Just came to post the same idea but I'll upvote this one instead.

Currently we have D365 instance used by both our sales and engineering teams. There is no easy way for use to manage the SP permissions to restrict access to the confidential contract documents.

Even if full permission replication wasn't an option. One easier solution would be to allow us to set a default SP location per entity, currently it can only be set globally. That way we could restrict teams to their own SP site based on entities which would work for us in this instance. Full permission replication would be the most ideal solution, but this could be an interim one.

Permission replication between D365 & Sharepoint Document Management would be a great move to simply bring value to the business. How easy it would be for the business to manage their business documents in D365 without managing permissions twice . This is an opportunity to provide your customers with a fully integrated solution that will allow them spend time on what really counts ie doing business instead of wasting time managing permissions between both solutions.

A must.
