Address the RESOLUTION2 use-case in the below work-around suggestion on the Microsoft web-site:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/dynamics/gp/order-has-pending-component-transaction-error-when-closing-manufacturing-order
The first use case (described under Resolution 1) appears to me to be more a user error as there are unposted Pick documents that either need to get posted or cancelled. As described in the resolution the user can resolve this using normal GP GUI transactions.
The second problem (described under Resolution 2) does not appear to have a clear underlying user problem and cannot be addressed using normal GUI transactions, but requires an IT person to go into the backend using SQL management Studio and update records in a table. I am actually surprised to see this is being suggested as an actual solution by Microsoft, rather then issuing a product fix.
We have this happen on a number of double digit manufacturing order every month. The orders contain a mix of lot tracked materials and one non-lot tracked item. From what I have seen it seems to only happen on the non-lot materials.
Of course we need to close the MO's and run finance close process, so in the moment we are performing the suggested workaround, but If feel it really is an unacceptable solution to need to edit official records with SQL management studio.
