In production, there are a few things regarding tracking that are often requested by customers:

1. relatively simple, there is a staging area and there is a component that is to be consumed backwards. 

Here it should be possible to control with a setting how the batches/serial number components should be automatically assigned. Options would be Manual (as today), FIFO, Complete (only one lot per posting/pice)

2. it should be possible to set items in production to: Unique tracking. With this option, it should then only be possible to post one piece for an article requiring a serial number and only one batch per actual posting for an article requiring a lot number, and it should then be possible to see which lots/serial numbers were used for this article in the items and the article tracking.

3. it should be possible that the tracking in production for a production item is not created on the last operation, but before, i.e. before the last operation posting. This is necessary if quality checks have to be carried out in the production processes and these have to be clearly traceable. 

4. accordingly, it is necessary that the quality inspections can be recorded per tracking and then also transferred to the corresponding series or batch information cards
