Currently when you choose to use the Correction Dimensions on the G/L Entry, it doesn't consider the Posting Date of the entry. This means that it is possible to either a) amend an entry in a period that has been marked as Closed on the Accounting Periods or b) amend an entry within the current year for a prior month that has already been reported to management/the board which will cause inconsistencies for year end reporting analysis.
The specific feedback from Microsoft is "Because no posting occurs, Business Central does not validate Allowed Posting Dates, user posting restrictions, or whether an Accounting Period has been marked as Closed".
Some users of BC require stricter governance than what the current design allows. Could a setup page be used to let the company set a Boolean to prevent amendments in Closed Periods and an option to allow them to define up to which date can a user amend a posted G/L entry's Dimension? Alternatively, have an option named 'Respect Posting Dates' which should consider the G/L Setup Allowed From/To Dates as well as the User Setup dates.
