I am former MS employee, who works for a MS Solution Provider that implements MS solutions for smaller government entities (states, counties, cities, etc.). Due to the size and budgets in these organizations they are interested in implementing Dynamics365 Business Central solutions, which is designed for entities of this size. The government customers are being pushed by MS reps into Government Cloud solutions, which doesn’t support BC solutions. This is pricing Microsoft out of consideration when these entities move to a new ERP system. F&O is to expensive but BC is competitive with partner solutions. The problem is there is no government SaaS solution for smaller counties, cities and towns which 99% of the government entities want.

I have a customer that has had to split their solution between on-premise and SaaS. To keep code bases the same we've had to regularly update their on premise environment to match SaaS.

Having a government tenant option would make keeping both environments in sync easier.

I submitted an idea on this as well, and it was almost immediately declined. This one definitely has my vote!
