It will be great to have ability to create Queries, linking multiple tables in the 'front end' that could be "published" and then used in Excel, etc. to create reports, pivots.

Any updates on this? It was mentioned at Directions EMEA 2022, but I haven't seen it on any roadmap so far. For reporting and datawarehouse development, being able to create custom queries (without having to rely on a AL developer) is essential.

I can't seem to find this or a similar functionality in the release notes for 2020 wave 2. Have i missed something?

We call for this functionality too. We have more customers, where experienced users are creating query in old development client themselve. With upgrade do BC14/BC15 they will lost this possibility!

Although this can be done through development/customisation, it would be great for power users to have the ability to create these queries themselves.
