Currently it's not possible to pause the task recorder when you are recording.

Sometimes something unexpected happens and you want to pause the recorder, till you have resolved it or understand what's happening. Sometimes you want to delete some steps and go back to the situation where everything worked fine and try again and you don't want to record this trial. When everything works fine you want to continue the recording.
Of course you could say just stop the recording, save it, and when ready put it in editmode and start recording again, but this takes time, so it would be more efficient to just pause the recording.
