Currently Dynamics 365 Human Resources gives employees and managers the ability to see leave and absence (approved and requested) in the ESS & MSS calendar. It would be useful to give employees the ability to see leave and absence across the department that they are situated in (on the primary position)

For example a department may have two streams of managers which have different employees that report to them. The employees and the managers may need to see how many people are off across the department before approving leave.
