The current records types in trade agreement journals allows for price sale, or price purchase.


Many vendors provide Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price which is one value used by both the selling documents and the buying documents with discounting from this periodically updated value.


If the relation type was available as a simile to MSRP for one record that both Sales and Procurement could discount from, the need to import the lines to two different destinations would be alleviated.


In the hierarchy of finding prices, the MSRP would be the cascade after the specific sales price records or the purchase price records.


Alternatively, allow a discounting record to nominate either sales or purchase as the basis value to discount from.


In North America, many firms consume product from well established manufacturers' catalogues but source them from numerous direct vendors. My manufacturer MSRP is important as the basis for numerous outlets for Kaman Bearings, or Volvo Penta engines. The outlets offer me discounts, but the MSRP is the basis for both procurement and sales transactions.
