It is difficult or impossible to edit the (General Ledger) Account Number as a filter in e.g. report option fields.
For example, let's say, you have general ledger Accounts from 39000 to 39500
and you want to filter the report G/L Total Balance with 39000..39500.
If you type 39000..39 - the drilldown shows nothing.
If you type 39000..395 - the drilldown does not find the number 39500.
If you type 39000..39500 - the user has to scoll down to the very end of the drilldown to find the account.
And if you then click on the account number, the previous filter values ("39000..") are deleted and only the clicked number is written into the field.
So the user has to write everything again AND he has to know the exakt account numbers.
He can't search for them in the drilldown.
But most of the time, users don't know the exact number, sometimes they only know, it starts with 39.
And of course they want their previously typed values to stay in the field, when they search for the next value.
This also applies to Filters with '|' , not only '..'.
