The following scenario has been raised and should be considered subject to change:

• Create a purchase order for item Y into warehouse X.
• Receive the purchase order.
• Crete a transfer order for item Y from warehouse X to warehouse Z. Both warehouses are warehouse-management-processes enabled.
• In the transfer order header, select delivery terms that have the ‘Add transportation charges to orders’ parameter turned on.
• Navigate to the load planning workbench and create a new load for the transfer order.
• Click on ‘Rating and routing’ and open the rate route workbench.
• Click on ‘Rate shop’ and make sure that at least one rate is returned without exceptions.
• Select a rate and click ‘Assign’.
• Reserve the inventory, release the load to the warehouse and perform all the transfer issue work.
• Confirm the outbound shipment.
• Although the following miscellaneous charges are set up, the transportation charges are not applied back to the transfer order line.

The charges should be visible in the transfer order lines as these are visible in the purchase order lines.

Currenlty the functionality is not as richly built in transfer order scenarios and many customer's would very much benefit from expanding this area.

Thank you for voting on this capability for Transportation Management. Within Transportation Management it is only possible to add charges resulting from the automatic or manual charge assignment to a route when charges are supported for the targetted source document. Is it is possible to handle charges of type ledger/ledger (thereby expensed) where the item however is not debited and hence inventory valuation impacted; which would be the expected result from transporation cost, handling cost to be absorved in the inventory value of the item. Microsoft is planing to release a capability to handle such landed cost for transfer orders though using a different data model than and not using the miscellaneous charges and not integrated to Transport Management.

Once this capability is released, and if you still require to be able to manually create and update miscellaneous charges related to transfer orders in general with the ability to include the charge in an item inventory valuation, then please create an idea for the transfer order in inventory management. That will allow Microsoft to plan accordingly.

I agree that it should not be an exclusive feature of TMS. It must be able to add miscellaneous charges directly from the transfer order

It is a feature that has been requested since AX 2009. All companies that transport something require adding transportation costs (and other inventory handling costs) to the value of their inventory. And It needs to be a global, not a local, feature.

Please do not make this dependent on TMS.

Note there is already a request for something similar - so you can vote on the other issue too

Freight is not the only charge that is needed for transfer orders. There can be duty/taxes/packing charges/labour and all kind of other scenarios of additional cost that needs to burden the cost of inventory when doing a transfer.

Would also be nice to directly add Charges on to the order if you weren't using Transportation. A tie into Auto Charges would be nice.
