Posting Groups on G/L Accounts

In Business Central, there is a requirement to specify a Gen. Bus. Posting Group and a Gen. Prod. Posting Group

for G/L accounts. However, this does not make sense since these posting groups are typically used only when working with items.


I haven't encountered any scenario where it would be necessary or relevant to specify these posting groups directly on G/L accounts. The only posting groups that would make sense on G/L Accounts are the VAT posting groups, which are applicable when using the general journal.
