Current behavior

When making or receiving a call with the embedded Microsoft Teams dialer in Dynamics 365 Sales, users can associate the call with a record during the call via the Details tab → Connect a record. The search-suggestion list in this field displays a fixed set of columns (e.g., contact name and phone number) and cannot be customized.


Unlike standard model-driven lookup fields, where administrators can control the suggested columns through the Lookup View / Quick Find View and surface parent-entity columns by enabling the relationship's Searchable setting. The Teams dialer's built-in search does not honor these customizations, because it is an embedded component with no exposed customization hooks.

Requested enhancement Provide a supported way to configure the columns shown in the Teams dialer's "Connect a record" search-suggestion list, at minimum, the ability to display related/parent entity column values (for example, the parent Account of a Contact) alongside the contact's name and phone number.


Business value:

Many organizations have multiple contacts with identical or similar names across different companies. Without the parent Account shown in the search suggestions, agents cannot reliably distinguish which contact to connect during a live call, leading to mis-associated phone call activities and slower call handling. Surfacing the parent Account (or other key qualifying columns) in the suggestion list would let agents pick the correct record at a glance, improving call accuracy and customer experience.

Ideally this would reuse the existing, familiar customization mechanism (Lookup View / Quick Find "Find columns" + relationship Searchable setting) so admins configure it the same way they already do for standard lookups.
