When you select the "+" in the top bar of CRM 2013, you can pick an entity you want to quick create. All of the entities that are there will open a quick add form in an overlay within the same screen. This is a fantastic added function. The only time this does not happen, is when you select an activity as this will open the form for this activity inside the window and replaces the screen you where in.
One of the things you quickly want to create and have the overlay function, is an activity like task. Please consider adding the overlay quick create forms for activities as well as right now it is hard to explain also to customers why some entities will open the overlay and some do not.
