We have multiple users that have delegates assigned to create, submit and manage their expense reports. Current workflow functionality returns rejected line items to the actual user as opposed to the user's delegate. We believe it would make sense to have the option for the rejection to be returned to the delegate instead.

Dear Microsoft.

What is the point returning the workflow request to the user who cannot get it? This is the purpose of delegation, isn't it? I delegate expense report to someone else for a purpose. For example, CEO expenses are maintain by their personal assistant or there are field employees who don't work with D365, but they should be reimbursed for their work.

What is the point sending expense to those people. We should vote on optional functionalities not on the design defects.

We also facing this issue and we need this to be addressed ASAP ..

We are using Expenses Reports, Cash Advances, Supplier Invoices, Case Management, FA and General Journals .. and we need this functionality in place when the user is on vacation.

I agree as well. We are about to move employee expenses from an app employees have used for years to D365 and this shortfall in the delegation is going to have an impact on user buy-in.

I agree 100% percent - this is the expected system behaviour from our users. (As Kerstin mentioned, it looks to me that Expense management setup is not consistent with other modules.)

I have an issue that is connected to this that I have been unable to solve until now:
Let's say person A submits expenses for person B, there is no way to use workflow to have B review the report before it gets sent to B's manager through workflow.
This exact scenario is possible for purchase requisitions, and I think it would make sense to have the same availability for expense management, to let the person requesting expenses to be reimbursed review the report before it's submitted to workflow.
I believe it is because in the Expense Management module the system doesn't make the same distinction between preparer and requester, but it's needed to accommodate these two scenarios.
