The load planning workbench is a great feature in Dynamics 365. It shows you all the incoming purchase orders and also the purchase orders which have not been fully received. We’ve customized the load planning workbench in order to make it suitable for our inbound process. I think these customizations might be usefully for standard Dynamics. These customizations are:

• Automatic creation of a license plate when you create a new pallet (packing structure)
• Automatic creation of work when you create a new pallet (packing structure)
• Automatic creation of work per item (additional option in the packing structure)

The most important benefit of these customizations are that you need the warehouse app only for the put away process, because you start the registration process from the load planning workbench. The disadvantage of the registration process via the warehouse app is that you have to do it per item and purchase order. For example when you’ve a purchase order with 50 lines, you have to do the registration per line and enter manually for each line the purchase order id.
