I would like to propose the idea of having a start date on dimensions similar to number series. It just helps with data migration and merger of companies when business process requires a different dimension value purchases and/ or sales.

For instance, if a user already has a PO released and waiting for receive/ invoice and the company merges with another company and implement rules of creating dimensions mandatory then the user can't invoice it without adding the dimension. Ideally you would have to disable the dimension but if there is a start date where the dimension can be applicable then it would help with mergers etc.
