In General Journals (and similar pages), users frequently need to enter multiple lines with nearly identical data – such as account number, posting date, dimensions, or description. Currently, users must either manually re-enter values or use the Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V commands to copy and paste entire lines.
In several other ERP systems (such as EG Bolig), users have a shortcut (for example Ctrl + F – or a similar key combination) that automatically copies values from the line above into the current line. This was a major time-saver for accountants working with large journals or in roles where you frequently need to repost or reallocate previous journal entries.
We propose adding a keyboard shortcut that copies selected fields from the line above – or even all fields except the amount.
Comments
F8 copies the field from above in list view. Is that what you are referring to? It does one field at a time vs the whole line though.
