Dynamics 365 appears to have a weakness in its functionality regarding the ability to maintain the same resource assignment on multiple successive operations on a route where capacity permits. I have a route as follows, where I have a group of machines (let's say Machine1, Machine2, and Machine3) to choose from that all do the same thing. I want to ensure that for route step 10, if when scheduling, it picks Machine1, that it also picks Machine 1 for Step 20, 30 and 40. With the following setup, I am afraid that it will pick Machine1 for step 10, then pick Machine2 for step 20, etc. Operation No Operation Id Resource Requirement Type Resource Requirement 10 Weigh Mtl Resource Group MachineGroup 20 Mix Resource Group MachineGroup 30 Quality Check Resource Group MachineGroup 40 Clean Machine Resource Group MachineGroup If there was a flag that can be checked on the operation like "Maintain Resource Selection" so that if it is checked on operation 10, then if Machine1 is chosen for operation 10, then Machine1 will also be chosen for Operation 20. Then if the same checkbox is selected on Operation 20, then Machine1 will be selected for Operation 30, etc. You could also have another optional checkbox for "As schedule permits" where if that box is check, if a resource is not available for the next operation, it will chose one that is (this could be useful for human resources that work different shifts). If that optional checkbox is not checked, then it would wait and schedule the next operation when that original machine is available.

Thank you for your feedback.

This is a great suggestion! We will consider this in our roadmap.

This will also be interesting when using primary and secondary operations

It may be the resource or the resource group that needs to be maintained. To solve this an operation should be allowed to add a resource requirement for the Resource Group = Resource group of the (a ??) previous or subsequent operation (in case bottleneck scheduling is used, the bottleneck should be the one indicating the line / Resource group).
