Problem already handled by MS support. Result, please open an idea in this portal
Case
- Open data management
- Prepare an Excel text importfile (example: product translation) with more than 8 lines
- the 9 position is longer (more letters) than the other 8 positions
- Import
- In D365 the text is truncated from position 9 onwards
Answer from Microsoft Support: "SQL only searches for the text with the most letters up to line 8. Further text lines are cut off if they are longer than the first 8 text positions. This problem occurs with various entities that have longer texts (mostly if more than 255 letters). MS D365 Support cannot solve this problem.
Workaround: check with each import whether the longest text is in lines 1 - 8
Same problem when exporting, there is only one possible workaround to export all text from the entire article tree "Open in MS-Office" at the very top right (adapted Excel-form necessary)
