During a recent implementation, there was an assumption that a salesperson would be filtered from other salespersons activities. IE Opportunities, Tasks, Contact..

Starting the process, it became apparent that there is no facility in data-level security to pass a variable into the permission set.

So if there are 100 salespeople, one would have to create 100 permission sets with the table security set to access the specific salesperson's code.

It would be desirable to have a variable on the permission set that is referenced on the security filter of the object being filtered.

We have the same business case for a customer with many users (> 500). We would love to see an event that we can hook to to set the filter dynamically.

I worked with Tom on this case. We agreed that an out of the box functionality to be able to filter task, opportunities, contacts and others so that each Salesperson can see their own tasks is a current business need for any company.

Currently, it is needed to create a permission set per each Salesperson to be able to filter their own tasks. There should be a general security setting or permission set that could be applied to all Salespersons and it will automatically filter their own tasks, instead of needing 1 permission set per Salesperson
