When drilling into the financial transactions from the chart of accounts, you access the general ledger entries by clicking on the balance of the account. Unfortunately it doesn't show you the balance in the account after each entry. You have to go to a completely different screen and run a report to see the balance. Why not just add that as a column so you can get there from one screen?

Running reports to see balances is incredibly time consuming when researching transactions during month-end close. Every time you go to a different account, or change the time period, or any other number of things you have to run a new report. Just having the balance appear in the general ledger entries would GREATLY enhance day-to-day activity and make it much more user friendly.

How has it been two years and this still hasn't been updated by Dynamics. If Intuit QuickBooks can do this, so can Dynamics.


It is very time consuming to export the file and then create your own running balance column.
