Many organisations in the UK (especially public sector) have workers with multiple active positions, where different positions could have different terms and conditions. This require absence entitlements to be based on a position rather than a worker, where a worker may have multiple absence plans of the same type. Current functionality restricts a worker to only have 1 absence of a specific type. Another consideration to keep in mind is that when a worker then requests absence, they need to be able to select which position it is for. e.g. a supply teacher has 3 positions: school A - Position 1, 8 hours a day Monday and Tuesday. Full time = 40 hours per week and gets 25 days holiday a year. Holiday entitlement should be pro-rated based on FTE of 0.4 school B - Position 2, 6 hours a day Tuesday and Wednesday. Full time = 30 hours per week and gets 30 days holiday a year. Holiday entitlement should be pro-rated based on FTE of 0.4 school C - Position 3, 7.5 hours on Friday. Full time = 37.5 hours per week and gets 22 days holiday a year. Holiday entitlement should be pro-rated based on FTE of 0.2 All 3 holiday enrolments need to be of the same type, but will have 3 plans. These plans need to be associated to the relevant position in order for the employee to select which plan/position they are taking holiday from so that the correct balance can be reduced. ESS should also allow for balances to be viewed against each position.
