On D365forO - 7.3 - The Review Project Invoice proposal workflow cannot be setup to assign the approval to the Project manager setup for the specific Project (Project manager field on the Project form. Currently we can only setup up the workflow to use Participant assignment and select the Security role of Project manager but this will assign the Invoice for approval to all users setup with this security role and not the specific Project manager for this Project. Many customers would like to see the Project invoice being approved by the Project manager setup on the Project form rather than other users who maybe managing other Projects.
