Overview

Currently, in Microsoft Dynamics 365, there is an inconsistency in user experience (UX) between standard charts and charts using the "Top X Rule" label when it comes to interactive filtering.

• In Standard Pie Charts: Clicking on a blank area (white space/background) of the chart successfully clears any active chart filters.
• In Top X Rule Charts: Once a segment is selected, clicking on the white space or background does not clear the filter. Furthermore, there is no dedicated UI button within the chart to deselect the active segment. The only way for an end-user to clear the filter is to manually refresh the entire page or view.

The Problem / Impact

This behavior creates confusion for business users who expect consistent interaction patterns across all dashboards. Having to refresh the entire page just to clear a single chart filter disrupts the workflow, causes unnecessary reload times, and degrades the overall user experience.
