Select User Session when Debugging

To make support easier, it would be nice, if we would be able to also select other User Session in Visual Studio Code like it is possible in the Windows Client.

Thank you for your feedback. We are going to support attaching to a specific running session id as well as next session for a specific user id. This is first enabled for the snapshot debugger, which introduces offline debugging of prod code flow (record and inspect in VS Code debugger after execution). The snapshot debugger will be available as preview in sandbox on October 2020 release, and is expected to be enabled for production environments (the intended scenario) in a minor, once tested in the wild. Latter is planned to also enable attaching to a specific user session in the real (interactive) debugger in a sandbox. Currently we are not planning a UI for selecting among sessions though.

Hi.

I have the same issue: if we have 30 or more customers with the same BC version with our developed extension installed and for each customer there can be more than one company with different settings in all the modules we are using, how can we debug a specific session in the customer database to identify what is causing the problem?

Assuming that we cannot copy and install the customer database in our local machine to run debug (either because it is Saas or due to the size of the database) how can we identify and correct the issue ?

If we have 30 customers with the same BC version with our developed extension installed and for each customer there can be different settings applied in our Financial or HR modules, combining with different companies, how will we be possible to debug a specific session in the customer database to identify which parameter is causing the problem ?

Assuming the fact that we cannot copy and install the customer database in our local manchine to run debug (wether coz is Saas or because of the size of the database) how will we be able to identify and correct the problem ?

In what way is this "Completed"? Almost 3 years are gone since that request and we still can't choose a session to debug in VS Code.

Well, not on the roadmap is hard to understand. This is essential, especially as the standard code is full of bugs, and we need to help the customers with their issues right away. The error messages given by NAV (sorry, BC) are not really helpful. Especially when you post an order with several dozens of lines and get an error messages explaining "quantity must be XXX in Item Journal Line Template '', Batch '', Line No. 0.
How do you find that issue?
