Please could you consider implementing a Return Policy for D365 Commerce to prevent items from being returned if they are outside their return period or not viable for return?

There should be a setting on the Commerce Product Hierarchy (Product Category) or Released Product > Commerce fast tab

The setting could be "Number of days valid for return".

You should also be able to mark items as excluded from retail return transactions so that items like carrier bags are not included in the return sale. (Idea already suggested).

On the MPOS > "Return transaction" action, after scanning the original sales receipt and retrieving the receipt date, when the item is selected to be returned, a popup message will appear that explains "The item is past the valid return period or is non-refundable", with the option to Continue with the return, thus overriding the popup message.

Obviously, this functionality will not work if the "Return product" action is selected as the original sales receipt date is unknown however if items are excluded from return should still popup the same message.

Additionally, a modification to the POS permission groups should be considered, to include a setting so that less senior staff cannot override the return policy.

Many thanks.
