The current design of Business Central, during the Calculate Depreciation process, the system applies the dimensions defined on the Fixed Asset Card to both the depreciation expense entry and the accumulated depreciation entry.


It was determined that the system will only allow the same dimensions to be used for both the depreciation expense entry and the accumulated depreciation entry.


Since the depreciation expense is an Income Statement type account, and the accumulated depreciation account is a Balance Sheet type account, they require different dimensions, especially for a dimension like Department.


This is a request to modify the process so different dimensions can be used for the different types of accounts for the Calculate Depreciation process
