I am an accountant that uses Dynamics BC daily, and I would like to share some suggestions for improvements to the program.
1. Add ‘Approval Status’ field to General Journal Batches page so I don’t have to frequently go into each one of my individual batches to check for approval.
2. Make posting requirements also be requirements to send for approval. Batches will make it past the approval stage, only to error out when posting and have to be reapproved after changes are made.
3. When I paste into a Journal entry from an excel spreadsheet, it lists all the credits first, then all the debits. However, I had it formatted so that each credit is on the subsequent line following the debit. Doing so makes reviewing work and matching amounts much faster and simply more logical.
4. Allow me to cancel an approval request for a journal entry.
5. When entering PIs, entering the account number fills in the description field with the account name. However, entering the account number should auto populate the Account Name field, not the description field. Furthermore, when personalizing the PI screen, adding a field for Account Name isn’t even possible and it should be. Nor is adding the comment field. All of this greatly limits the ability to add good descriptions about the nature of the transactions on the PI, and we need to be able to do so the solve problems later when they arise.
