Regarding the UK localisation of BC and the Group VAT functionality, would it be possible to introduce a warning control to help prevent submissions without including the Member companies?

At least four of my customers have incorrectly submitted Group VAT as even though (1) the company are set as a Representative company in VAT Report Setup and (2) the Member companies VAT were submitted into the Representative company, there is no control I am aware of to prevent the VAT Return being submitted without ticking VAT Group Included on the VAT Return. That step did not happen unfortunately.

Technically this is their error for not ensuring that the VAT Return was true and complete prior to submission. However a system control would have prevented this serious error.

For example, a soft control on the Release option in the VAT Return such an information message “The VAT Group Role of this company is set as Representative in your VAT Report Setup. But you are trying to submit the VAT Return without including the Member Companies. Is that correct?" that requires the user to actively confirm would be a simple safety net in the product.

I logged a Support ticket with Microsoft but the advice was that this is best raised as a design change/enhancement request as it is not really a bug. So I'm now logging this as an Idea.
