We need a function to roll back and roll forward again for general journal. If we posted a general journal with wrong date, we are only allowed to roll back this general journal, but next we want to post it with the right date and without typing the hole general journal again.
If not possible to roll back and roll forward the solution might be a posibility to copy a previous posted general journal to an exiting general journal. That will give us the possibility to just correct the date and not typing the hole general journal once more.
