We’re using custom solution (Application Insights based) to monitor/log/collect baseline information for D365. Currently throttling is a significant gap as such events cannot be seen anywhere except of LCS, which is not suitable for automatic information extraction. Basically we need somehow see in AI (or another 3rd party product, i.e. Prometheus) if D365 throttled something.

Currently the only way to do it is to adapt each service consumer so it will report to monitoring if it was throttled. This is not very convenient and sometime not even possible. Would be really good if you could add some possibility to react on D365 side programmatically and send the information similar to what is available in LCS, to some 3rd party endpoint.

I support this idea. As a partner we are in charge to monitor the environment of the customer and to take action when we see trends that might impact the business. With regards to throttling and API Limits, we have no tooling to do this. Even a simple report that shows over max 30 days history the throttled requests, will help to become more in controle. I would appreciate if we can get something soon.
