It would be nice to be able to exclude fully paid documents from customer statements. Statements should be able to be generated on the amounts that are outstanding with the option of excluding documents that are fully paid.

It's more commonm in the UK for a statement to only show outstanding transactions, not all. All other accounting solutions that we've come across in the UK have the ability to select outstanding items for a customer statement - Sage, Xero, Quickbooks etc.

I think the suggestion is a good one as long as it is optional. Some of our customers send statements with many lines of transactions and it can be difficult to determine what invoices are actually outstanding.

I think this is one of those things that is dependant on the convention in particular countries, however in the UK it is a common requirement to only send statements with open items therefore I think the suggestion (as long as it's optional) is a good one.

Dynamics GP provides the option to exclude fully paid/applied documents. It would be great if D365 BC allowed for the same type of option. In many cases there are outstanding documents from months past with current transactions paid in full. The statement should show those outstanding without having to show all the paid transactions as well.

Thank you very much, Erik. Would you kindly point me in the right direction to locate the US localization customer statement? Which keywords might I enter into the magnifying lens or Help buttons?

I disagree! A statement is a (semi) legal document and is NOT supposed to only show which open entries a customer have, but all the transactions the customer had within the statement period. A customer statement is not different from a bank statement, and I guess you would not be happy if it only showed the money they owe you.
But when that has been said, then take a look at the US localization customer statement. It includes additional options to high light/show open/overdue entries.

This option should be obligatory for generating statements. Otherwise the client will get confused by the closed detail included on the statement.
