Cross-docking from production or from a purchase order to an outbound location is relevant for customers who produce or buy high volume and ideally want to ship the finished products as soon as they are reported as finished or arrived to input dock. The purpose is to ship the products that are physically located close to the customer demand, rather than build up inventory.

This is now limited to only transfer orders from production orders - this should also include crossdocking directly to sales order and from purchase order.

totally agree to Laurens van der Tang - in our customer project we have the need of crossdocking in production orders

Impossible to live without this feature. We prefer to keep our inventory as low as possible and often find ourselves producing product to ship the same day.

This would be very useful.

I would suggest to add also crossdocking from purchase order to production. At the moment D365O doesn't provide a efficient process. The only way to do it is a re-release of the production waves to the central warehouse. Actually you want that when a puchase order comes in, and there is a shortage on the production line, D365 should propose a put away from the inbound to the production order.
