When using Business Central version 27.x in an environment with multiple companies, when a user enters a value in the IRIS User ID field in Page 10068-Setup IRIS User ID that value is then displayed for all companies. However, the IRS issues unique IRIS User ID’s per company.
This issue was submitted to Microsoft Support in January 2026, who provided the following reply:
In a multi-company environment, the IRIS User ID entered on Page 10068 (Setup IRIS User ID) is stored at the database (tenant) level, not per company. As a result, when the value is entered or changed in one company, it is automatically displayed in all companies.
We’ve confirmed that this is standard Business Central functionality and not caused by any customization. The same behavior occurs in an unmodified Cronus demonstration environment, which indicates this is the current design from Microsoft.
We understand the concern here, as the IRS issues unique IRIS User IDs per legal entity, and this does not align perfectly with the way Business Central currently stores the IRIS User ID.
Unfortunately, the standard application does not provide a supported way to maintain different IRIS User IDs per company.
