We had encountered a scenario for our client where there are multiple contacts with the same phone number. When a segment is created, and a message is sent using customer journey the message is sent to the same number multiple times.
There is a feature switch for email which has the option to prevent duplicates. The idea is to implement the same for sms.

This makes absolute sense. We are currently starting the sms rollout for a few of our clients and all of them gave this as feedback, that it would be great to have a feature switch as it is available for emails.

Currently this is not on our roadmap, but we are tracking it, and with more feedback and support from the community we may consider it in the future.
