If you use Sharepoint O365 Modern WITHOUT Teams, you can configure RSS feeds using XSL. THis provides the ability to display only portions of a RSS feed that is relevant to our customers. I also have the ability to color code alert notifications so our customers can scan through the feeds and look for feeds notifications that are moderate to critical. The issue with using Modern without Teams is that two RSS Feeds require User Agent strings to be sent to the remote RSS server. Microsoft says that Modern Pages without Teams does not have the ability to send User Agent strings.

We tested Modern pages with Teams and it resolved the issue of having to send User Agent Strings. All the RSS Feed now work. However, Microsoft removed the ability to use XSL to modify how RSS Feeds are displayed; thus, creating two problems. (1) We monitor volcanic activity. The U.S.G.S. has only one RSS Feed for five Volcano Observatory where each monitors a minimum of a dozen volcanos. With Teams, I can't filter feeds to display only the four volcanos that are of interest. Instead, I have to display upwards of several dozen notifications, all of which might have no relevance to my customers. Having my customers scroll through several dozen alerts with no guarantee that any alert is of relevance is non-productive.

(2) Without Teams, I am able to color code notifications, such as air quality for various parts of the Hawaiian Island. Branch managers can disregard notifications if the alert is colored green. If they see an alert in orange or red, they might want to read the alert as it could impact the health of branch customers and employees. With Teams, I do not have the ability to color code alerts. My end users have to read through the alerts even if there is no health issues. Secondly, with Teams, I do not have the ability to code in line breaks. I noticed that some of the RSS feeds with Teams, look like run on sentances.

Please add back the ability to modify how RSS Feeds are displayed. This is more for customer acceptance and user ability. Even though Teams resolved the RSS Feed issues, the lack of configurability for customer acceptance does not justify moving to teams due to the potential of problems that it will cause.
