A known requirement for our potential client and most fuel retailers (and potentially some mainstream retailers?) is the ability to handle multiple prices for a single product over the course of a single day. This means there would be a timestamp associated with each price, denoting the time that the price would be effective from. There would be an inbound feed (store/product/date/time/price) and D365 would then need to send this price as follows:
• To the Forecourt Controller which would then update the price poles and pumps on the forecourt
• To the POS to apply to associated transactions
For example, a fuel retailer may send a queue of prices for unleaded petrol for today as follows:
• from 2pm £1.25
• from 5pm £1.27
• from 10pm £1.29
At present, there is no mechanism to process these prices with a date and timestamp.
Our team have explored modifying the pricing engine and the price adjustment functionality (which I believe only works for downward price adjustments) with no success.
Do let me know if any further information is required.
