It would be desirable for all of Business Central's code analysis tools to be available under an open source license. This would greatly simplify the creation of custom tools for partners. The Code Cops would still be seen on-top, but would not necessarily have to be published. However, the publication would still be interesting. Unfortunately I can't tell you exactly what the analysis tools will include, because I don't have the background knowledge. But maybe it would be possible that partners could make much more profound adjustments in the AL environment.

In the .NET (core) world, the release of the tools under an open source license has also brought a lot. I could well imagine that it would also make a lot of sense in the AL world and could significantly advance development.

Keywords in this case would be Roslyn for Visual Basic and C#. This way, very extensive analysis is possible without everybody having to write their own parser. In addition, a standardized platform was created that could be extended by any developer.
