There are two durations as we consider physical posting of retail transactions.

1.POS creates retail transaction -> Batch execute Retail Posting to reserve inventory-> Retail Statement create sales order with physical transactions.
2.POS creates retail transaction -> Retail Statement create sales order with physical transactions directly.

Retail batch processes are running periodically for always. Business processes such as Retail Statements create locking on tables until finish, and this interrupts business processes of all business units when there high volume of retail records are being processed.

Real time OnHand quantity measure is the most important value for retail-specific companies. This value comes from physical INVENTSUM and WHSINVENTRESERVE tables. Customers are never awared of on-hand inventory measures without retail statement process. Local and In-House business solutions provide this feature. We need a table such as RETAILINVENTSUM to show real time values.
