we have a global dimension for Department - is there a way in the default dimension set up, for a certain account, that no matter what someone enters for the department, the department dimension automatically gets changed to a certain department.
for example: the cash account would always default to department 000 or Bank Fees would always default to department 800.
we run into problems where Dynamics wants to balance the department dimension and we dont want them balanced.

This could be forced by the use of "Same Code" on dimensions for the account. Thereafter use the Dimension priority to force that one's use.
I don't think any change is needed.
